For those in the Mooresville, Lake Norman area, I will be speaking at St. Therese Catholic Church on Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m. The church is located at 217 Brawley School Road. This coming Saturday, at 7 p.m., I will be speaking at the Barnes & Noble at Friendly Center.

Looking to next month, I have book talks set for St. Thomas More in Chapel Hill on Nov. 1, at the High Point Friends of the Library on Nov. 4 and St. Paul the Apostle Church in Greensboro on Nov. 12. These are all evening events, around 7 p.m.

Book signings will follow each talk. Come on out!

I have a few book events coming up: on Thursday at 7 p.m., I’ll be speaking at Head House Books in Philadelphia, Pa. On Dec. 14, I’ll be signing books at the Barnes & Noble at Southpointe Mall in Durham, N.C., from 1-3 pm. And on Dec. 20, I’ll be signing books at the Barnes & Noble at Friendly Center in Greensboro, N.C., from 1-3 pm. Hope to see you there.

On Tuesday and Wednesday nights this week, I spoke at Barnes & Nobles in Greensboro and Winston-Salem, respectively. Both events drew standing room crowds, and both sold more than 100 books. Last night in Winston-Salem, we actually sold out! 120 books. Greensboro sold out the next day.

Thank you Becky and Jane, the community relations managers in both cities, for doing such a great job of promoting and organizing the events. Both stores are reordering books, which I really appreciate. In the meantime, there’s always Amazon and Barnes & Noble online.

Pennsylvania book event

Tomorrow evening at 7 p.m., I will speak about my book at St. Cornelius Church in Chadds Ford, Pa., just west of Philadelphia. I will be hosted by Monsignor Greg Parlante, who was kind enough to not only invite me, but will pick me up at the Philly airport and put me up for the night! The Barnes & Noble in Exton, Pa., will be on hand to do what they do.

UPDATE: The Thursday evening event was a wonderful experience. Five college friends from Penn State attended whom I haven’t seen in years, as did relatives from the Philly area and scores of others. The folks from the Exton Barnes & Noble said it was the most successful book signing they had staffed. A special thanks to everyone at St. Cornelius Church, especially Monsignor Greg Parlante and Monsignor Jim McDonough, for helping make the event possible. I hope to see you all again.
