Beatification buzz

In the news: “According to the Italian daily La Stampa, John Paul II will be beatified on April 2, 2010 — the fifth anniversary of his death. Reporter Giacomo Galeazzi reports that thanks to an acceleration in the beatification process, documents pertaining to John Paul’s cause, called the “positio,” have already been forwarded by a commission of theologians to be examined by cardinals.“This is very good news,” says Msgr. Tadeusz Pieronek, the Polish priest who has been responsible for the diocesan phase of the beatification process in Krakow, La Stampa reported.” The whole story is here.

Well, whatever the Italian source was for this rumour they know very little about the Church and its traditions and liturgy. April 2, 2010 is Good Friday and there is absolutely no way anyone will be beatified on that date…

Whenever the Beatification of Pope John Paul II is held, I will be there. I will use this time to renew my passport and save money for traveling to Rome, Italy.

Pope John Paul II has always been considered life a distant relative. Our son was named after him and they met a couple of times. The Holy Trinity, through Pope John Paul II preformed 2 miracles in my family during his life. I also believe he preformed one after his death, but I have not had it confirmed yet.

I went to Rome, Italy on April 3, 2005. I traveled all of Divine Mercy Sunday to get to Rome right away. I traveled alone. I was able to spend a good deal of time with him. The funeral was on friday, but I fell in on Sunday. Two day after his funeral Mass. I was staying at the Divine Word Monistary. I felt I had caught the flu and I was feverish. I went to bed early and was found in a coma the next day. I was in a coma for 6 days and in the hospitals in Rome for a couple of weeks. I begged the doctors to let me out so I could attend the first public Mass of Pope Benedict XVI, which my husband and I attended.

Pope John Paul II was not about ready to let me die after going to his funeral – I know he was at Our Lady’s Feet begging for my life.
