BookMarks: a success
The BookMarks book festival in Winston-Salem was a great success today. More than 20 authors from all over the country gathered in Historic Bethabara Park on a beautiful sunny day to talk about their books and with any luck, sell and sign a few. Among the authors of fiction and non-fiction, adult and children’s books, were: Nikki Giovanni, Carmen Deedy, Anna Rubino, Ben Towle, Chris Crutcher, Ellen Lloyd, Bill Winokur, D.G. Martin and me. Debbie Harllee and her staff of committed volunteers deserve the thanks of writers, publishers and readers for putting on such a fine festival.
The photo here was taken today at the author’s tent by festival-goer Janet Cooper-Bridge who was nice enough to share it with me.
